Mark Weber is a highly accomplished retail and apparel industry executive. Since October 2006, he has served as a member of the executive committee of the world’s leading luxury group, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, and CEO of its North American arm, LVMH, INC. He is also chairman and CEO of Donna Karan International (DKI), one of the world’s best-known fashion companies.
During the past six years, he has led a period of strong, profitable growth for DKI. In addition to entiring into licensing agreement to expand the Donna Karan and DKNY businesses, Mr. Weber has capitalized on the global appeal of the Donna Karan and DKNY brands to increase their presence in new and emerging markets, namely China and India.
In addition to his leadership of DKI, Mr. Weber has global operational responsibility for LVMH’s Thomas Pink brand, the leading British luxury shirt maker. He is also a board member of Edun, the ethical fashion company founded by Ali Hewson and her husband U2 lead singer and activist Bono, and oversees LVMH’s investment in the company.
Prior to his current positions, Mr. Weber spent 30 years at publicly traded Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation (PVH). He began his career at PVH as a merchandising assistant and rose to become president, a board member and ultimately CEO.
In 2011, Mr. Weber was named “Man of the Year” by the American Apparel and Footwear Association, in recognition of his leadership and innovation in the retail industry.
Outside of his business career, Mr. Weber drew upon his extensive knowledge of the menswear field to write the 1997 McGraw-Hill book Dress Casually For Success… For Men. He is married and has two sons.
